Internships
If you are interested in interning with us please send an email to hello@nowherestudios.nyc with a cover letter and resume.
Hours: 10-20 hours per week
Role: unpaid internship; college credit available
Who we are looking for: Good people. We can teach anyone to wrap a cable, or tweak the knobs of a compressor, but we can’t teach attitude. Fitting in with the team and the environment we have envisioned is essential.
Qualifications: A passion for and understanding of music. Reliability and a willingness to learn. Attention to detail and experience working with a team are a plus. No prior studio experience required.
Responsibilities: None. ok maybe some. but you’re not here to be free labor. Your main responsibility is to assist the owners, Josh and Wil, in their day to day tasks. That means if there is a session, you will be assisting the session—setting up gear, listening, pro tools opping, running out for lunch, and most importantly helping keep the safe and creative environment for everyone. If we are fixing gear you might be holding a flashlight, or soldering. If we’re doing admin, you’re doing admin. If we are working on social media, you are too. I think you get the point. The goal is to learn, experiment, and explore the studio. Not every task we do will require two sets of hands so if you find yourself with nothing to do then we encourage you to learn the gear, use the instruments, clean up around the space, think of ways we can be better. We will have training and lessons throughout the internship and we hope you make the most of the opportunity to use the studio. We will help facilitate in any way we can.
